Key Ingredients Kit Club – August Now Available!
Good morning! I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend! It has FINALLY cooled down just a tad here in the Midwest. At least enough that when you walk outside you don’t lose your breath from the heat and humidity. So I think Jon and I are heading to the Iowa State Fair today! Should be full of fried foods (last year I had a fried Oreo) and fun!
But before we head off to the fair, I’m excited to show you this month’s Key Ingredients kit! If you’re a current subscriber then you know these papercrafting goodies are already on their way to your doorstep and we’re here to provide a little inspiration today. But if you’re not a current subscriber, we’d love to have you join us! Just scroll down a bit and I’ll tell you more about our monthly kits. So now for my project! This month’s challenge keywords are “Fancy Flight”. So as I sat down with my Key Ingredients kit I knew I wanted to use the butterflies from the kit. We also have a new item in the TE Store that I’ve been anxious to try out! It’s the Mini Acrylic Accordion Album and I used it to create this decor piece. I started by cutting patterned panels and adhering them to the acrylic base with Sticky Tape. Then I cut coordinating cardstock panels and layered them over the top. I decided to spell out the word “dream” because I figured that fit with the ‘fancy flight’ theme a bit…the whole allowing your dreams and your imagination to take flight. I used Patchwork Thickers to spell out the word dream and layered them onto scalloped circle punches. Then I spelled out the words, imagine, create, inspire with the individual letter stickers included in this month’s kit. I layered and decorated several butterflies with Stickles, Tiny Twinkles, and Liquid Pearls. You can see in the closeup photo that I attached one of the butterflies with wire so it’s fluttering in the air above. I think these accordion albums will be fun for lots of things like school pictures and mini scrapbooks! And they happen to fit perfectly inside a Tea Tin for quick and easy gift-giving. I decorated this tea tin to hold my project. I’m not sure who I’m gifting this project to yet, but it’s ready to go as soon as I decide! *grin* So that’s about it for my project! You can see this month’s kit below and keep reading if you want to find out how to have it shipped to your doorstep!
