Mr. Squirrel Happy Birthday Wishes
Happy Day! I hope you’re all having a wonderful Labor Day weekend! The weather is just gorgeous here… a perfect 80 degrees and sunny. A special friend of mine celebrated her birthday yesterday and I’m sure y’all know her too… Sankari Wegman. This sweet gal is a ray of sunshine in my life and while I didn’t get a chance to wish her a Happy Birthday yesterday, it’s not because I forgot (YAY! For once I didn’t forget, but I’m still late!). I’ve been itching to use the new Oh Nuts stamp, mask out the nut that he’s holding, and replace it with something else. I discovered I have lots of things in my collection that would work, but I finally settled on cutting out a present from the patterned paper in the Make a Wish Project Pantry. While I didn’t use Liquid Pearls on my card for Sankari (*gasp*), I paid tribute to her skills in a different way. Sankari cuts out EVERYTHING…layers upon layers of trimmed banners and borders to create the most fabulous scenes! I probably didn’t use my scissors nearly as much as she would have, but I did cut out the present, balloons, and ‘happy’ banner from different patterned papers in the collection.
The cardstock, patterned paper, and Baker’s Twine that I used on this card are from the Make a Wish Project Pantry kit. After coloring the image with Copics I layered it onto my new favorite Spellbinders Lacey Squares diecut.
That’s it for me today! We’re off to do some window shopping and perhaps catch a movie! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
