Taylored Expressions April Sneaks – Day 2
Good morning! It’s time for another day of sneak peeks for our April release! Just a reminder that all of the new products we’ve shared during the past two days will be available for purchase Thursday, April 7th at 8am PST in the TE Store. Today we have more yummy goodies on the menu including a cute Mom A la Carte stamp for Mother’s Day (or anytime you want to tell your mom that she’s the best!), illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes collection. We’re also showcasing the third It’s a Banner Day set with original concepts from Iwona Palamountain. There are 3 banner images, 8 sentiments, and a Taylored Die to match! And last but certainly not least, all of the Baker’s Dozen projects today will feature one of two new Taylored Card Kits! Here are more deets and the samples I created using today’s sneak peek goodies:
Yesterday you saw the project I created for my mom for Mother’s Day and today I’m sharing another project that I made for my mother-in-law. She loves to give away my cards (or maybe she’s just collecting them!) so I thought I’d create a storage solution for her cards using the Hello Luscious Card Kit and the Perfect Package included. I covered the Perfect Package with patterned papers from the card kit. Then I cut a label using the Spellbinders Labels 4 die and sponged inside with Lime Pastel and Olive Pastel chalk inks. I used Blue Flocked Alphabet Chipboard to spell out ‘cards’ and added rhinestones (which also come in the card kit) to each letter. To finish off the box I created a pin using the Fresh Blue Vintage Brooch. I pinned it to the ribbon so she can remove it and wear it as an accessory. Then I decided to create a coordinating card to give with the box. I used the new Mom A la Carte stamp which is perfect for my mother in law because she loves coffee! I stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa and paper pieced the coffee cup and letters with patterned papers from the card kit. I used the same Spellbinders Labels 4 to cut the image and sponged inside with chalk ink. You can’t tell from the photograph, but I also covered the letters with glitter and a coat of glossy accents. Can’t seem to put those glossy accents away lately! Here’s a picture of the Hello Luscious Card Kit which includes the following supplies:
- 10 Choice Buttercream Cardstock A-2 card bases
- 10 A-2 envelopes
- 15 sheets of patterned paper sized for cardmaking at 4″ x 6″ (3 sheets each of 5 double-sided patterns from the Basic Grey Hello Luscious collection)
- 20 sheets of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock (4 sheets each of 5 colors)
- 1 package of Kaisercraft Rhinestones
- 8 panels of Choice Buttercream Cardstock size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (for images and layering)
- 5 yards of ribbon (2.5 yards each of 2 different styles)
- 1 Perfect Package Card Box
I also made a set of simple cards to show you the adorable Emma’s Shoppe Card Kit paired with the new It’s a Banner Day 3 stamp set. I took inspiration from this cute card that Jen Tapler created. She was so clever in showing off all of the different patterned papers with one simple layout! I love the pretty patterns and unique colors of the Emma’s Shoppe paper so I thought this would be a perfect way to show them off without getting too complicated. I started by punching several 1″ and 1 1/4″ circles from the different patterns. I arranged the circles, adhered them, and added a pearly embellishment to the center. Then I stamped the sentiment, cut it out with the coordinating Banner Day 3 die and popped it up on foam tape. I also shaded the “folded” portion of the sentiment with a Copic marker for a little more dimension. Here’s a picture of the Emma’s Shoppe Card Kit which includes the following supplies:
