Taylored Expressions May Sneaks – Day 2
Good morning! It’s time to kick off Day 2 of sneak peeks for the May release at Taylored Expressions! So y’all know by now that I had baby on the brain while putting together this release and I just couldn’t do without a baby Cuppie set from Jessie or a fabulous ‘create your own nursery’ set from Nancy! So on today’s menu is Baby Cakes, a set that’s true to its name and filled with adorable ‘baby cakes’! When talking about baby stamps with Nancy I had been decorating a baby nursery in my head for months and thought, “How fun would it be to create your own nursery on a card!?” Nancy took the concept and designed the most wonderful stamp set, Bringing Home Baby! It’s perfect for personalizing a baby congratulations card. And even if you’re not into building a scene, you’ll find lots of uses for the individual images in this set! So, with all that goodness I better stop chatting and start sharing the goodies!
For my first project, I started by stamping the carriage from Baby Cakes in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I paper pieced it with the tiny stars pattern from the Jillibean Soup Blossom 6×6 pad and colored the rest of the image with Copics. As I mentioned yesterday, the Heart Frame A la Carte and coordinating Frame it Up 2 die are great not only for highlighting a wallet sized photograph, but also for a 2″ x 3″ image panel. So I stamped the frame in Colorbox Warm Red, cut it out with the Frame it Up 2 die, and inserted the 2″ x 3″ image panel into the four slits created by the die. The card base is Classic Red cardstock and both patterned papers are from the Jillibean Soup Blossom 6×6 pad. To finish off the card I added some red scalloped polka dot ribbon, popped up the image panel with foam tape, and added one of those adorable KI Memories Puffies from the Baby Boy pack.
For my next project, I also singled out the baby carriage image from Bringing Home Baby. I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and paper pieced the bottom portion with patterned paper. The rest of the image is colored with Copics. I cut the image out with my new Wonky Rectangles dies (loving these!), stamped the sentiment at the bottom and traced around the inside of the die cut image panel with a thin brown marker. All of the cardstock, patterned paper, and the scalloped border that I used on this card came from one of our newest Project Pantry Kits, Alphabet Soup Boy! And if you guessed that there must be a girl version too, you’re right! We’ll also have the Alphabet Soup Girl Kit available for purchase along with the rest of our new releases on Thursday.
If you’re not familiar with our Project Pantry Kits, then you’re in for a treat! We’ve named them the Project Pantry because they include all of the coordinating ingredients you’ll need to make several cards, just as if you were heading to your kitchen pantry to find all the ingredients you need for dinner! There’s no guessing which colors and embellishments will go well with the patterned paper because all of that time-consuming work has been done for you. And it’s an incredible value with each kit priced at just $9.95. Here are photos and a breakdown of what you’ll receive in each kit:
- 12 – 8.5″x11″ sheets of cardstock (2 sheets each of 6 colors)
- 27 – 4″ x 6″ sheets of double-sided patterned paper (3 sheets each of 9 patterns)
- Want2Scrap Teal Baby Bling
- 3 yds. of ribbon (1 yard each of 3 different styles)
- 15 Mini Safety Pins (5 each of 3 colors)
- Die cut embellishments to match patterned papers
