Taylored Expressions May Sneaks – Day 3
Good morning! It’s time for our last day of sneak peeks before all of our new products are available for purchase on Thursday, May 5th at 8am PST! Today’s peeks are packed with goodies designed by the creative ‘pen’ of Nancy McKinney! We have an addition to our popular series of seasonal wreaths concepted by Jami Sibley, a fun ‘create your own shopping bag’ stamp set and coordinating set of dies, and an introduction to a brand new collection of characters called the Moka’s! I’m gonna keep this short and sweet here at the beginning and get to the goodies!
My first project features the adorable Moka Olivia! So what is Moka? The name came about by combining the names of two of Nancy’s favorite people, her daughter Morgana and close friend Katie. Cute, huh? I think it’s so fitting and I am totally in love with these sweet girls! I started by stamping Olivia in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then coloring her with Copics. I also paper pieced her tank with the floral pattern from the Jillibean Soup Blossom collection. I cut out Olivia and popped her up onto a 2″ x 3″ image panel. This happens to be the perfect size to fit into the slits created by the Frame it Up 2 die that cuts around the Heart Frame A la Carte. After finishing the image panel, the rest of the card came together pretty simply with patterned papers from the Blossom collection, a little ribbon, and the scalloped eyelet border die cut along the bottom.
Next up is sweet Moka Jenn with the adorable baby bump. It’s probably no surprise that she reminds me of myself at the moment so I decided to color her hair brown and dress her in an outfit I’d be proud to wear! I started by stamping her in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored her with Copics. Her tank is paper pieced with a floral pattern from the My Mind’s Eye Stella Rose Gertie collection. This would be a great stamp for a pregnancy congrats card or just to encourage a friend to ‘indulge those cravings’! I think my biggest craving at the moment is shopping so it’s perfect that she’s hiding a little shopping bag behind her back! *wink* I cut the image out with Spellbinders ovals, added the medium scalloped border die cut along the side, and embellished it with Island Lagoon rhinestones and a Little Whimsies Coral Lotus on the sentiment.
All of the new (and future) Moka stamps will be offered in our Petite size with one character and several coordinating sentiments making them a great value at just $7.95 each!
Next up is another concept and design from Nancy McKinney called It’s in the Bag! The stamp set was designed to decorate your own shopping bag embellishment, but in order to do that you’ll need a mini shopping bag. Well, Taylored Dies to the rescue with a cute 3D shopping bag die complete with label dies. The stamp set was designed in a way that you can choose to create a 3D shopping bag embellishment or stamp the shopping bag flat onto the surface of your card with the handle, fillers, and labels included in the stamp set. When folded, the shopping bag measures approximately 1 1/2″ wide x 2″ tall x 1/2″ thick. I used papers from the My Mind’s Eye Stella Rose Gertie collection, stamped the bag pattern in Deep Lagoon chalk ink, added a ribbon handle, and airbrushed a small piece of tissue paper with a matching Copic marker. The ribbon is green apple silk and I finished it off with a few yellow pearls. I can see filling this cute bag with images from past TE stamp sets, using it separately, or even combining it as an embellishment to go with one of the new shopping Moka’s!
And last, but not least, we have the latest addition to our seasonal wreath series, the Summer Wreath! Although it’s still feeling a little winter-ish around here (we had a frost advisory last night!) it was fun to get out my bright summer colors and pretend I was on a beach in Hawaii! Just as a reminder, our previous wreaths include the Wreath of Love, Wreath of Luck, and Spring Wreath which all coordinate with the Seasonal Wreath die for quick and easy trimming! I stamped the wreath in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copics to match the patterned paper I chose from the Jillibean Soup Blossom collection. Then I cut out the wreath, popped it up on the patterned door, and added some Crystal Twinkles to the flower centers.
Here are all of the dies that I used on today’s projects:
