SUPER Early Birthday Card!
Good morning & Happy Hump Day! OK… so I started this post in the morning, but then our power and internet went out so now it’s officially afternoon. *grin* I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already…one day closer to Taco Bravo Thursday at Taco Johns! *wink* The weather has changed to rain and gloom this week, but all the rain has sent our trees and flowers into bloom. This is amazing for March and I LOVE IT! We’ve been getting tons of new stuff in the store lately and I’ve been feeling inspired to use it all! The new Simple Stories Happy Day 6×6 paper pad has been calling to me especially loudly so I decided to work ahead and make this card for my nephew’s birthday this summer. For those of you who know me really well I hope you didn’t fall out of your chair! Can you believe I am actually working that far ahead!? When I finished up the card I showed it to Jon for his approval and he said “57?”. NO… it’s just 7!! The way I cut and placed the patterned paper in the background makes it look like ’57’ but oh well. It’s done now! I used Jen’s Deconstructed Sketch #43 for the layout and the Make A Wish stamp set. I stamped the birthday cake image in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copics. The ‘Make a Wish’ sentiment is from one of the borders in the coordinating Borderlicious set. I added split pea rhinestones, gelly roll pen, and espresso pearls to the cake to jazz it up a bit without making it too girly. And then at the last minute I decided to personalize it by adding the banner and spelling out his name with the You’re My Type Upper alphabet set. I stamped each letter in Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I’m so excited with how it turned out and now I’m not sure if I can wait until summer to give it to him. LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
