TE Sketch Challenge #155
Good morning & Happy Friday! Any exciting plans this weekend? It’s Jon’s birthday on Saturday so we’re dropping Madelyn off at his sister’s house and going on a date to a local steakhouse. As long as dinner ends with cheesecake Jon will be a happy camper! *wink*
Does your weekend include any time to stamp? I hope so because this week’s sketch should go on your “must-do” list! I love to make lists and recently I’ve changed my lists to “must-do”, “should-do”, and “wish I could-do”. *giggle* And this one goes in the must-do category! Here’s the sketch designed by Jen Shults:
And here are the sketch requirements:
Create a card using the above sketch as inspiration. You’re not required to use TE stamps to play, but there’s a bonus prize if you do! To be entered into the prize drawing you must link your card using the In Linkz provided below by Thursday, April 12th. And of course there are prizes that are up for grabs:
1. I will randomly select one person from all of the challenge links to receive a $10 gift certificate to the TE Store! If you used predominantly TE Stamps on your project you’ll receive an extra $10 bonus for a total $20 gift certificate!
2. I will select my favorite card to win Top Chef honors! The winner of the Top Chef will play along with the sketch crew and have her blog and card design featured here on the TE blog.
The random winner of a $10 gift certificate to the TE Store is Deanette (and this was even her first time participating…how cool is that!?). Congrats! Please email me to claim your prize!
And the winner of our Top Chef honors is Lynnette who created this adorable card with the new Faith in Bloom stamp set! I love the bright cheerful colors that she used! Lynnette will be joining with the sketch crew for TESC156 and we’ll learn more about her then!
But for now it’s time to welcome this week’s Top Chef, Chaitali Narla! We asked her a few questions to learn a little more about her:
2. What is your favorite TE stamp? Die?
3. What crafting item can’t you live without?
Thank you for sharing a little bit about your craftiness with us, Chaitali! All of your creations are just beautiful and I can’t wait for everyone to see the card you made with this week’s sketch! Scroll down check out Chaitali’s card and then head over to her blog to check out all of her beautiful projects: Cuts, Crops, & Creativity.
For my card I decided to grab the You’re my Hero stamp set and pair it with the new Simple Stories Awesome 6×6 paper pad. This paper makes it so easy to do boy cards! This card will be for my 4 year old nephew Tyson. He’s so creative and loves to sit and cut paper and color for hours. Of course I like to encourage creativity so I buy him crafty kits for his birthday and Christmas. He has made me a couple cards lately and I LOVE THEM so I wanted to give him something that I made. I started by cutting the oval from a Spellbinders die. Then I stamped the ‘splat’ in Colorbox Lime Pastel (which isn’t so neon looking in real life!). I added the sentiment over the top in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and added Pyrus Painted Brads to the splats in coordinating colors. Then I stamped the guitars with Colorbox Maroon and Colorbox Arctic Deep ink and cut them out. I also stamped the splat in Arctic Deep ink onto the cardstock layer and added more coordinating brads.
And our super cool sketch crew has even more inspiration to share with this fun sketch:
