Taylored Expressions June Sneaks – Day 1
Are you ready for a 4th of July celebration? Maybe this will put you in the mood:
I used tons of new products (and a few older products) to put together my party ensemble. Now that all the work is done, we’re definitely hosting a 4th of July party this year!
I started with the menu card that I’ll set out at the buffet. I created the patchwork background by piecing together different patterned papers from the new 4th of July Project Pantry kit. Then I cut out the Spellbinders Labels 4 Grand Nestabilities and printed the menu. I added Red, Clear, and Denim Goosebumps to give each of the menu items a ‘bullet point’. The ‘4th of July’ sentiment and the adorable patriotic gal are from the new Moka Betsy stamp set illustrated by Nancy McKinney. I spelled out the word ‘buffet’ with the new Tall & Skinny Alpha dies. At the top I used the Large Scallop Border layered with the Reach for the Stars border.
Next I began working on the pinwheels for the table decorations and napkin rings. For the table decorations I attached each pinwheel to a wooden BBQ skewer and filled Potion Bottles with sugar to hold the pinwheels in place (or you could use sand… I just didn’t have any). I decorated each of the bottles with a band and the Reach for the Stars Border Die. I made a quick video to show you the new Pinwheel Parade dies and how easy they are to put together!
And last, did you catch the star detailing on the plate stand? I used 1/8″ sticky tape to adhere several cuts of the Reach for the Stars border around the plate stand.
Here’s a look at the 4th of July Project Pantry kit featuring Pebbles Let Freedom Ring as well as the new dies (Pinwheel Parade & Tall & Skinny Alpha) that I used on today’s projects:
Attention Canadian Friends!! I know y’all don’t celebrate American Independence Day (that certainly wouldn’t make much sense!), but I do have something special just for you and your Canada Day celebrations! We have several Canadian guest bloggers joining us today to showcase the adorable Moka Karen, designed by our Canadian illustrator Nancy McKinney and lovingly named after Baker’s Dozen alum Karen Motz! Make sure you check ’em out!
