Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peek Day 1
Hey there! Election day is finally here! Did you vote? While the election might be the only news topic covered on the television today, I have the latest in stamping news for you here. Sneak peeks for our November release begin today! All of the new products will be available for purchase starting Thursday at 8am PST in the Fresh Out of the Oven department!
Today we’re featuring two stamp sets, Oh What a Day & In the Word, along with two new dies, Label Stacklets 2 and Lace Chain Border. I’m super excited about the projects I made so let’s get the show on the road!
My first project uses the Oh What a Day stamp set along with the Label Stacklets 2 die set. I love all of the images in this sweet set illustrated by Emily Burger! I couldn’t decide on just one so I decided to make a set of cards that I could give as a gift.
I’ve been wanting to get crafty with Trendy Tape lately and these fun images provided the perfect opportunity. I started with all 6 colors of chevron tape and arranged them in different color combinations for each card. Instead of cutting the layers with scissors, I ripped the tape with my fingers for some added whimsy.
I cut out each of the images with Label Stacklets 2 and colored them with Copics. The card bases are Choice Snow White and measure 4.25″ square.
After finishing the cards I set out to create some cute packaging for the set. Here’s what it looks like all bundled up:
And here’s what the inside of the card ‘folio’ looks like with all of the cards and envelopes inside:
I started with this Splitcoast tutorial and decided to tweak it a bit. I thought it’d be easier to use one of our clear card boxes for the inside of this folio since all of the scoring/tabs are already done. I just cut the clear card box in half and then folded each of the halves together creating two separate little boxes.
I cut a piece of 12 x 12 paper to 4.75 x 12 and scored it on the long side at 5″ and 7″. After folding on the scored lines I adhered the clear boxes to the inside of the folio with 1/2″ sticky tape. The cards have their own little box on one side and the envelopes on the other side. Notice… I stamped the enveloped with a “Limited Edition” stamp that’s part of our new Signature Style stamp set! Here’s a look at what I stamped on the back of each of the cards too:
This stamp set has all kinds of options for stamping on the back of your handmade projects… something to coordinate with every style! And you’ll be seeing lots of it as the Baker’s Dozen and I stamp the back of all of our projects for this release.
So that was a lot of pictures for one project! Are you still with me? I have another project to show you and I’m switching from cutesy to pretty! This project uses the new In the Word stamp set that coordinates with our previously released Mark Your Spot Bookmark die:
The Bible verses are designed to fit perfectly on the bookmark and can be combined with the different flourishes, crosses, and other elements in the stamp set. All of the images are solid so it’s quick and easy stamping!
I made these bookmarks for my dad. He loves to read and I’m sure he would like to give some away too. I love making gifts for my dad because he always saves them. I decorated a box for him when I was about 6 years old by taping his business cards inside and writing a note on the box that says “Call my dad if you want to buy insurance”. He still has the box to this day along with the many handmade gifts I’ve made for him since.
Because this is going to be a gift I decided to make up a little packaging for the bookmarks. I decorated a Kraft Bigger Bitty Bag with patterned paper from the Echo Park This & That Charming collection.
I also used the new Lace Chain border die on a couple of the bookmarks and the bag. I love this dainty new die. Here’s a look at it along with the other dies that I used on my projects:
