Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 2
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by for our first day of sneak peeks yesterday! We have more inspiration to share today before all of the new products will be released tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 8am PST! I can hardly wait!
Today we’re featuring 3 full-size stamp sets, 2 Petite sets, 1 mini set, and more new dies to top it all off!
My first project is another bright set of cards that I’m going to give to a stamping friend this Christmas! I used the new Moka Wanda petite, lovingly named after our own Wanda Guess as she’s the one who requested a stamper Moka several months ago. Here she is in all her crafty glory:
I used the bright patterned papers from the Doodlebug Nifty Notions collection along with the Nifty Notions Fancy Frills stickers. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut her out with the new Label Stacklets 2 die, and then airbrushed the image panels with Copic. There’s a cute sentiment that comes along with the Moka Wanda petite set… “I’ve got a gun and I’m not afraid to use it!”. Hehe… But I decided to use sentiments from the previously released Crafty Expressions set. They’re absolutely perfect to go with this image!
And the best part is that Crafty Expressions is free with the purchase of $100 or more starting on Thursday!
My next project is something I’ve had in my alterables drawer forever. Well, it’s more of an alterables bucket where I gather all of the alterable items like potion bottles, test tubes, tins, frames, etc. etc…. things that I want to transform into gift projects. Well, I bought these mini spools at Michael’s a loooong time ago:
I saw a project where the spools were decorated and strung onto elastic to create a bracelet. So that’s what I set out to do! Here’s the finished bracelet:
I started by spray painting the spools with hot pink spray paint. I tried painting them with a brush and acrylic paint, but they were just too tiny to hold in my fingers and paint at the same time so I found the spray paint option easier. Then I wrapped each spool with different patterns from the Simple Stories Snap Life 6×6 Pad and the Simple Stories Color Vibe 6×6 Pad with sticky tape. Then I painted over the the spools and paper with Mod Podge to give it a finished look. I used light pink elastic trim to string the spools and then tied up the ends with a loop & button closure.
After finished the bracelet I set out to use the new Totally Tags – Handmade set to create a piece of packaging worthy of my handmade gift. I love these tags! There’s something for every kind of gift from jewelry to food to clothing to something made by your kids. I used the clear top square tin to package it up and the Totally Tags die to cut out my tag. Here it is:
I’m super excited about how my projects turned out! Are you noticing a theme? So far everything I’ve created is a gift! ‘Tis the season to think about creating gifts for others and the stamps and dies we’re releasing in November will be perfect for handmade holiday gifts!
Thanks so much for tuning in today! The Baker’s Dozen has more inspiring projects to share with you. Some of them are using stamp sets that I didn’t sneak peek on my blog today so make sure you hop along to check ’em out!
