Hey there crafty friends! I’ve been so excited for today because we’re beginning our sneak peeks for the June release! I’ve been begging for summer weather around here and while it’s rainy and cool here today at least all of the Baker’s Dozen projects will put me in the mood for the summer sun whenever it decides to arrive! All of the new products we’re sneak peeking will be available for purchase on Thursday, June 6th at 8am PST at the TE Store. So let’s get to the goodies!
My nephew has a birthday coming up this summer and he’s getting to the age where robots and trains just aren’t ‘cool’ anymore. So here’s what I made for him using the new Ride the Wave stamp set:
I just LOVE how this card turned out! I started with a piece of
Choice Buttercream cardstock and built my scene on there. I used the new
Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate to paper piece the top half of the card using patterned papers from
Crate Paper The Pier 6×6 pad. Then I added the wavy pattern to the bottom portion. I embossed the silhouette surfer over the top with navy embossing powder. Then I embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment in white. I popped up a coordinating cardstock frame, added enamel dots to the corners, and some jute twine around the bottom of the frame. The whole framed piece is popped up on a
Kraft cardstock base.
For my second card, I wanted to show how the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate is super versatile and can be used for all kinds of cards (not just to create a sunshine). Many of you stopped by last week to see the big news that we’re expecting our second child this October. I asked you to participate in a gender guessing game and you’ve been patiently waiting for the announcement. Well, here it is in the form of a card:
Yep, Madelyn will be enjoying tea parties and playing dress up with a little sister! If history repeats itself I’ll be the one who is outnumbered as Madi is such a daddy’s girl. *grin* Thanks to all of you for the heartfelt congratulations! The winner of our baby-riffic prize package for correctly guessing the gender is
Julia Aston! Julia, please
contact me to claim your prize!
The thing I love most about this card is that it looks difficult and time consuming, but it wasn’t!
Thanks so much for stopping by here today! You’ll definitely want to pop over to the rest of the Baker’s Dozen blogs to see what they’ve designed with some of these new products (and others that I haven’t shown!):
