Taylored Expressions June Studio Challenge
Hey there! I hope you’re all having a great week so far! I’m teaming up with the Baker’s Dozen today for our June Studio Challenge. Each month we have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

list? Are you a big reader or not? If you are, what books have you
read lately that you would recommend? Do you have a favorite author or
genre? How about something for sitting out by the pool, or the beach, or
even just the backyard…some nice light summer reading?
Do you use fancy bookmarks or do
you dog-ear your pages? Or, do you use an e-reader? Everyone can use
bookmarks and they make great favors and gifts. Let’s see a little
inspiration!
I have always loved to read and I still love to read! I wish I had more time to get lost in a book, but I still make time to read before I go to bed each night. This can be a dangerous time to read because if I get really into my book I’ve been known to find the clock reading 2am before I turn off the light and then I pay for it the next day! I typically read book on my iPad, but one of my summer passions (shopping at garage sales) seems to turn up lots of paperback books at a much lower price than the books on iTunes!
I typically enjoy reading suspenseful mysteries and some of my favorite authors are James Patterson, John Sandford, and most recently David Baldacci. I currently have The Collectors on my nightstand. When I read about this month’s challenge I was super excited because I’m in desperate need of a bookmark. I don’t like to dog-ear pages so I had been using a piece of envelope that I ripped apart from junk mail. I’d also never tried a corner bookmark before so this was the perfect time:
I used the Delightful Day stamp set and papers from the Simple Stories I Heart Summer 6×6 pad. I punched out the image with a 1 1/4″ circle punch and layered it onto a 1 1/2″ scalloped circle. These came together really quickly so I made an extra one to send to my sister… she loves to read too!
My bookmark already found its new home… here it is resting comfortably on page 100:
If you’re a fellow mystery/suspense reader, I’d love to hear who your favorite authors are too! I hope you’re feeling inspired to make a few bookmarks for yourself or as gifts for others. Read more about the Baker’s Dozen’s favorite books and check out their inspiring bookmark projects too:
