July Kit & Stamp of the Month Blog Hop Day 1
Hey there! I hope you’re all having a great week! I’ve been getting the last of the details for our trip to CHA in place and we’ll be flying out on Saturday. Have I told you all that we’ll be exhibiting at the show for the first time in Las Vegas!? Before we head out, the Baker’s Dozen and Key Ingredients design teams are joining together for the next three days to share lots of inspiration using our July Key Ingredients and Stamp of the Month. The theme for our hop is versatility so we’ll be sharing how both the Key Ingredients and the Stamp of the Month can be used together and in combination with other patterned papers and TE stamps for lots of options!
Today we’re sharing projects that use both the Key Ingredients and the coordinating Stamp of the Month set, Cute Hoot along with the coordinating die set Curly Cute Hoot. Here’s the card that I made:
I started by picking out inks that coordinated with the patterned paper in order to create the stamped background for the owl. I used Prima Chalk Edgers in Turquoise Stone, Vintage Pink, and Rock Moss and stamped the arrows in an alternating pattern for the background. Then I stamped the owl in Prima Rusty Keys and die cut it with the coordinating die from the Curly Cute Hoot die collection. I die cut the little curly swirly element from brown cardstock and fashioned that to be the owl’s perch. After finishing up the image panel I cut out a frame from blue cardstock, popped it up over the top, and finished it off with some yummy Bubblegum Doodle Twine. I primarily used solid cardstock for this clean and simple card, but I thought it needed just a touch of pattern to tie all of the colors together so I added a small strip from the Basic Grey Knee Highs collection at the bottom.
