Taylored Expressions September Sneak Peek: We’re Turning 5!
Hey there! I hope you had a relaxing Labor Day weekend! We enjoyed some time outside in the beautiful weather and I was able to put a few check marks on my “Things we need for baby” list. I can’t believe my due date is just 7 weeks away! Before we celebrate the birth of our little girl we have some celebrating to do at Taylored Expressions as we’re turning five years old! We’re devoting the entire month of September to our big birthday bash and you are all invited! This Thursday, we’ll be releasing 21 new stamps and dies and we’ve planned some special surprises to make this fun for everyone.
In addition to party favors, we also like to have fun! Each day this week we’ll reveal a new classic party game with some fabulous prizes and details of how you can join in the fun! Today we’re inviting you to play along with *te* Tic Tac Toe!
My first sneak peek combines the From Me To You stamp set and the Tic Tac Toe board. Here’s a look at what I made. Can you guess which squares I used on the Tic Tac Toe board?
I went vertically down the middle of the board and created a birthday card that uses washi tape and two or more dies. The color combination for my card was inspired by a childhood favorite. Any other Lisa Frank fans out there? In grade school I LOVED Lisa Frank. I wanted the trapper keeper, pencils, folders, erasers, etc. My mom would only buy Lisa Frank if it was on sale (which was rare considering every other girl my age also wanted Lisa Frank stuff). It was a special treat whenever I got Lisa Frank school supplies! And it’s that childhood pining that likely fuels my continued love for these brightly colored nicknacks today.
Here are the supplies I used on this project:
I’ve been in ‘birthday mode’ lately as September is TE’s birthday and Madelyn turns two in a couple of weeks. Madi loves farm animals and tractors so we’re throwing her a farm themed birthday party later this month. In all my Pinterest searches for birthday party ideas I discovered the rainbow party theme. Since Madi’s party is already planned, I decided it’s never too early to start on the theme for the new baby’s 1st birthday party. No matter that she’s not even born yet… she’ll be having a rainbow party next year! Here’s the ensemble that I designed for her party:
The rainbow banner invitation uses the new Party Banner Cutting Plate with a sentiment from the new Big Bold Birthday stamp set. The sentiment and black frame were cut out using the new Label Stacklets 6 die set. Then I used the new Birthday Treat Toppers & Bloomin’ Stacklets 1 dies to create the birthday cupcake toppers. In order to personalize them for the age, I added the number from our previously released Circle Numbers die set. Then I attached the treat toppers to the new Doodlebug Pixies (Tangerine & Swimming Pool). And last, I adorned the cupcakes using the Cupcake Wrap die, also new in September.
Here are the supplies I used on my party ensemble:
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Before you head off to play *te* Tic Tac Toe, the rest of the Baker’s Dozen girls have amazing inspiration to start our birthday bash with a bang!
