TE Blog Design Team: For the Happy Couple
It’s Wednesday and we have the perfect solution to your mid-week blues! Today we are debuting the first project created by our amazing new Blog Design Team and this one comes from Wanda Guess. Wedding bells are ringing with Wanda’s gorgeous gift set and she’s got some very helpful tips and tricks for how you can create something lovely that will be treasured forever by the happy couple.
Wanda’s Notes: Greetings! Wanda here, and I’m so excited to share my first post on the TE Blog! My projects for today are a wedding ensemble I made for a dear friend’s recent wedding. Taylored Expressions has so many wonderful products that are perfect for wedding cards and gifts. And, since we are crafty gals, we can use these awesome products to make the cards in the wedding colors – one of my favorite things to do. It takes personalization to a whole different level!
Wanda’s notes: My card is made using the Mr. and Mrs. Cutting Plate cut out in crisp, bright, white paper, and layered on a lovely blue. I added bling and pearls to make it more festive and fancy. This look is so elegant and classy.
Wanda’s Notes: The matching envelope was made with the Envelope Punch Board in matching blue paper. Then I made a label to personalize it with the couple’s names. (For a full supply list, see the list at the end of this post.)
Wanda’s Notes: For the box I used more matching blue paper and my scoring tool to hand make it in a 3×3 size. The tutorial I used can be found HERE. I used the pretty Damask Dies and some vellum to decorate the top. I stamped on the vellum using Stayz-on ink. Works every time!
To make your wedding gifts truly special, Wanda has these suggestions:
- Use pearls and clear gems to add sparkle and elegance
- Use vellum for your sentiments or accents
- Match the wedding colors for an extra personal touch
- Make your own matching envelope with a fancy label
