Blog Design Team: Life is a Journey
The TE headquarters is finally seeing a bit of sunshine, which we’ll be enjoying before some thunderstorms come rolling through. So we were especially glad to see today’s project from Blog Design Team member Caryn Davies, which has us looking longingly out the window and wishing for some two-wheeled fun!
Caryn’s Notes: Hi folks! Today I’m sharing a card I’ve made using the fabulous Bikes & Trikes stamp set along with a handful of Taylored Expressions dies.
Caryn’s Notes: I began with a white card base and cut a panel of pale blue cardstock onto which I could build my little scene. I used a sponge dauber to add some subtle cloudy effects on the top half of the blue panel using white pigment ink and die cut the picket fence and grass border adhering them to the bottom edge. The sun was stamped and die-cut (from Sunny Days) and placed in the “sky” and lightly inked to give it a slightly toned down appearance to tie in with the soft effect I was trying to achieve.
Caryn’s Notes: Next, I stamped the bicycle from Bikes & Trikes in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it very subtly with Copic markers. I fussy cut around the image (a little birdie told me that there just might be a coordinating die set coming in the near future!) and then adhered it so that it sits behind the grass but in front of the fence. Finally, I colored and cut a few butterflies from the same stamp set to add a bit of movement to the layout. The “life is a journey” sentiment was stamped in black ink to finish off the card.
Do you have some wheels? Well, we hope Caryn’s pretty card has inspired you to check your tires and get cruisin’!
