Guest Designer: Melyssa Connolly Day 1
Hey there and Happy Friday! Today I’m excited to introduce you to the newest Taylored Expressions Guest Designer, Melyssa Connolly! Melyssa hails from Truro, Nova Scotia with her husband of 20 years. Her son recently left for college officially making them “empty nesters”. She first began her journey into papercrafting 16 years ago in a scrapbooking class. After dabbling in the world of digital scrapbooking she settled on cardmaking and she has since been featured on several design teams and published in a number of magazines. Melyssa will be providing inspiration right here on the TE Blog and on her personal blog: fantastINK for the next three months! And she’s kicking it off with a pretty fabulous creation today:
Melyssa’s Notes: I trimmed the card front slightly shorter than the back so I could give it a beautiful lace edge using the Floral Eyelet border. I wanted the card to have lots of layers but still look simple so I used a lot of white to tone down all the patterns and layering.
Melyssa’s Notes: I didn’t have any jewels on hand to add accents to my card so I used teal Stickles to create my own sparkly jewels. They take some time to dry but worth every minute!
Thanks for joining us on the TE Blog this week! We’ll be back on Monday to announce the lucky winners of the giveaway from our partnership with Perfect Papercrafting earlier this week. There’s still time to put your name in the prize drawing. Click here to check out the details!
