Blog Design Team: Birthday Confetti!
Happy Thursday! Today we have TE Blog Team member Wanda Guess with a fun-filled collage birthday card just perfect for celebrating a special day.
Plus, in case you are feeling inspired by Wanda’s project to create a collage card of your own, we’re giving away a Hexagon Cutting Plate! Keep reading for all the details on how to enter to win…
Wanda’s Notes: I’m here today to share a couple of neat techniques on a happy birthday card. This card has a lot going on, and sometimes that’s just the way I like it!
Wanda’s Notes: The first technique is to play with your cutting plates! Usually we tend to cut them out and use the entire thing. Here, you can see that I cut up my hexagons into a free form graphic shape to add as my bottom layer for a collage card. You could do this with any of the cutting plates. Don’t be afraid to play with the designs.
Wanda’s Notes: The second fun technique you’ll see is that I made a confetti pocket onto a tag. This is a cheery touch for a birthday card. I cut out a tag with some woodgrain paper and then sewed on a small square of vellum. Then I just cut out circles with my hole punch and put them inside. I sealed the top with a touch of clear glue.
Wanda’s Notes: The rest of the card came together with some banners in different papers and a touch of gingham ribbon! Have fun with your die cuts and mix and match – see what happens!
