Guest Designer: Melyssa Connolly Day 2
Hey there & Happy Friday! Our Guest Designer Melyssa Connolly is back today to kick off the weekend in style with two bright and summery cards! Perhaps she’ll inspire you to get crafty this weekend (or maybe do some crafty shopping!?). Here are the fabulous projects she has to share:
Melyssa’s Notes: This cute truck was just begging to be colored bright red and I thought it would be a fun touch to add the wood paneling to the back. Tip: Try layering the same die cut from the same patterned paper and use ink along the edges to separate them visually.
Melyssa’s Notes: The bed of every truck needs a couple giant cupcakes! I added some extra decoration to my cupcakes with white gel pen.
Melyssa’s Notes: I created this happy little scene using the Happy Trails stamps set and sketched in a few elements of my own (the hill lines and roadway). Tip: To create a
dimensional backdrop try coloring the
areas that are farther away in the background lighter than
those in the foreground for a more realistic depth of field.
Melyssa’s Notes: To create a more realistic evergreen tree, I dabbed my marker randomly on the trees starting with
the lightest color and moving to the darkest color.
Melyssa, thanks for sharing your fantastic cards and a your fabulous tips and tricks for coloring more realistic scenes! I definitely learned a few things to try the next time I have my Copics out… probably later today! Have a great weekend everybody!
