Blog Design Team: Summer Fun!
We are so thrilled today as it’s new Blog Team Design team member Kay Miller’s first project share and she works some serious die-cutting magic with this darling summer card! could just imagine all the fun I would have die cutting all those
little blocks with different colors and putting cute little dies in each
square!
Kay’s Notes: For this project, I wanted to go with a summery theme. I first die
cut the color block cutting plate several different times with different
colored card stock, so I would have some different colored background
pieces to choose from.
Kay’s Notes: I knew I wanted to use the adorable new Little
Bits dies, specifically the sand castle and umbrella, so I chose beachy
colors. I glued the outline down first to a piece of white card stock,
then inlaid the different color pieces into that. I created the beach
scene by cutting three colors of the one large rectangle then cutting
them to fit the water and the sand. I used the Build a Scene Rolling
Hills die to cut the curve for the sand.
Kay’s Notes: Next I die cut all the fun
little dies from the different Little Bits dies in pretty summery
colors. The word “fun” was cut with the Tall and Skinny Alpha ( which I
LOVE) in different colors. I then glued all of my cut out die pieces
with foam tape onto the different squares. Next I added foam tape to the
back of the entire piece and glued it to the front of an A5 size white
card.
Kay’s Notes: And there you have it! A super fun summertime card to share with a
friend or family member! It would make a really cute birthday card or
bon voyage for someone leaving for vacation!
