Good morning, crafty friends! I’m stopping by to kick off the week here on the TE Blog with Taylor’s Expressions! I’m often found in my stamp room creating projects for occasions, events, and happenings in my life and this gives you a little peek into my stamp room to see what I’ve been up to. But first, I have a winner to announce from our latest giveaway from our new blog team member Kay Miller’s first post last week! The lucky winner of a $25 gift certificate to the TE Store is:

The elementary, middle, and high school kids started back to school last week and it’s hard to believe that summer has officially come and gone. And it’s even harder to believe that our Madelyn starts preschool in just a couple weeks! She is so excited to go to preschool and already has her backpack and school supplies packed and sitting by the door (for several weeks now!). Every day she asks “Do I go to preschool today!?”
I love her excitement and thought it might be fun to make something for her to give to her preschool pals. Everybody loves a cute critter and these Smarty Pants characters are perfect when paired with the new Pencil Topper die:
I started by stamping the cute critters onto Choice Snow White card stock and cutting them out with the coordinating Smarty Pants dies. Then I paper pieced portions of them to match the pencil topper background and colored the rest of the image with Copics.
Here you can see that the pencil topper die has slits cut into the top and bottom to make it easy to slip a pencil through the openings. BONUS IDEA: use the pencil topper die to create custom cupcake picks. Just slide one of those cute patterned straws through the openings and poke it into the top of your cupcakes!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day and can find some time to stamp!
