Blog Design Team: A Vintage Birthday
Hey there, crafty friends! Today we have TE Blog Team member Wanda Guess some simple tips on how to give a card project a ‘vintage’ feel. Plus, to help you try your hand at creating a card as beautiful as Wanda’s, we’re giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to the TE Store! Keep reading for details…
Wanda’s Notes: My card today features the beautiful stamp set Notable Blooms, and the
matching dies. I wanted to create a birthday card with a subtle shabby chic and vintage feel.
Wanda’s Notes: Some of my easy tips and tricks for making a card ‘vintage’
are
- use brown ink instead of black to stamp your images
- distress the
edges of everything using a dauber and some Antique Linen Distress Ink (or a similar color) - use cream paper instead of white paper
These three things can
totally change the entire look of your card.
Wanda’s Notes: I chose some pretty
patterned papers and then matched my Copic markers to the paper. This
pulls the entire project together with cohesive colors.
Wanda’s Notes: This stamp set
is just so pretty. I love the font and the saying makes a very nice
focal piece for the blooms. Best wishes for a great day – and happy
crafting!
