Blog Design Team: It’s Never Too Early to Eat, Drink & Be MERRY!
It’s been a busy few weeks, crafty friends! Christmas seems to everywhere already, even before Halloween and Thanksgiving have come and gone. (We secretly don’t mind at all because Christmas is such a happy, joyous time of year!) Blog Team designer Caryn Davies has got a fun and merry card to get you thinking about all the holiday festivities that will be here before we know it.
Caryn’s Notes: Caryn here with a bright and funky festive card celebrating my MOST
favorite time of year – CHRISTMAS!
Caryn’s Notes: I started with a white A2 tent fold
card blank and covered the front with a panel of ‘spotty’ paper taken
from the Taylored Expressions Double The Fun paper pack.
Caryn’s Notes: I then cut a
panel of white card measuring 4″ x 5.25″ and stamped the dots from the Very Merry stamp set randomly in pink, red, green and aqua
inks. The sentiment was stamped in aqua ink and the panel mounted on
foam dots to the card front.
Caryn’s Notes: This stamp set comes with a companion ‘MERRY’ die so I cut this from red cardstock and stamped the ornaments
from the set in aqua, green and pink and then die cut each one. I used a
punch to make holes in the top of the ornaments and threaded twine in
matching colors through each one, securing with foam tape at the back.
Caryn’s Notes: I
adhered the other end of the twine to the back of the Merry die-cut and
then popped everything onto foam and mounted it to the front of the
card. A few strategically placed sequins for bling (because, after all, it’s CHRISTMAS)
and it’s done!
Thanks so much, Caryn, for so nicely reminding us that it’s never too early to eat, drink, and be MERRY! To catch more of Caryn’s amazing work, visit her blog, Glitter Me Silly. Stay tuned late this week for more inspiration from this month’s Guest Blogger, Kittie Caracciolo!
