Blog Design Team: Thankful For You
Hey there, crafty friends! We hope you had a wonderful weekend and that your week has gotten off to a great start. Fall is definitely in the air and today we have a bright, fun Fall card for you from Blog Team designer, Kay Miller!
Kay’s Notes: Hello! I am back to share another colorful fall card using one of my
very favorite Taylored Expressions dies, the Color Block Cutting Plate. I
have to make a card with this die for every season, because it’s just so
darn fun to fill all those little squares up with colorful papers and
dies!
Kay’s Notes: For this card, I chose a Fall theme and used tons of bright, happy colored patterned paper. I just love the designs, and I didn’t want to cover them all up
with lots of dies, so I chose to just fill in the boxes with the cute
patterned papers and add my sentiment and dies to just one block.
Kay’s Notes: I
first cut out just the outline of the die and glued that down to my
card base. Next I cut out each square of the die with several of the
papers from the pad. (Kay’s Tip: I used my scissors to cut out a piece just a tad
bit bigger than the block in the die, so as to save my paper, since I
only needed one block of each design.) I glued all my papers into the
frame.
Kay’s Notes: Next I cut out the Curly Swirlies die and glued
that down with a bit of glue. I used this die so I would have
something to anchor my leaves to; I didn’t want them just floating on
the card. Next, I die cut the leaves out of the bright matching colors
and adhered them with foam tape.
Kay’s Notes: And last but not
least, I stamped the sentiment on the Label it die cut, adhered it to
the card with foam tape and added a few little embellishments for
fun!
