Blog Design Team: Punny Love
It’s only a few more days until Valentine’s Day and “love” is the word of the day! Today, Blog Team Member Amy Sheffer shows us her creativity with this sweet, punny card…
Amy’s Notes: I’m going to squeeze in one more Valentine project before the big
day on Saturday! When I first saw the “hooked on you” sentiment in Punny
Love, I wanted to use it with a crochet hook. My 11-year-old daughter
has become interested in crochet recently, and I thought this would be a
perfect Valentine to make for her, or even for her to make for her
friends. Crochet is so popular right now that I’m betting lots of
stampers will enjoy using a sentiment like this year-round!
Amy’s Notes: I
started with a kraft base that I die-cut using the Banner Stacklets 2
die set. The vellum layer is cut with the next smaller size of Banner
Stacklets 2 dies, then stamped with Graphic Greetings Valentine in
VersaMark ink and heat embossed in white.
Amy’s Notes: I stamped the Punny
Love sentiment onto Sugar Cube card stock, notched one end, and wrapped
the other around a crochet hook. At the bottom are two Flamingo felt
hearts that I die-cut using the little hearts from the Hearts A Flutter Cutting Plate. (Tip: On the back side of the vellum, behind the felt
hearts, I used a glue dot to secure the vellum layer to the kraft layer to prevent the adhesive from showing.)
Amy’s Notes: I tied a slip knot out of some
pink embroidery floss and attached it to the hook end of the crochet
hook. Extra embroidery floss is coiled and clipped onto the Valentine
base with a mini binder clip. The binder clip also holds the vellum and
kraft layers together.
Amy’s Notes: The Graphic Greetings Valentine
image makes an ideal background! The white embossing adds some fun texture and interest,
too.
Any crochet fans out there? We are sure Amy’s daughter is going to adore this card. You can find more of Amy’s wonderful work on her blog, Pickled Paper Designs. Have a joyful day!
