Blog Design Team: Let’s Head for the Country
Hope you are all having a happy day, crafty friends! Are you headed out for a fun outing this weekend? Well, if you plan on staying home, Blog Team designer Kay Miller has created a card that will have you dreaming of a day out in the countryside! Read on for all the details…
Kay’s Notes: I have a fun card to share today that requires no stamping at all.
This card is made entirely from dies! The Build a Scene series of dies are perfect for
creating little landscapes like the one I have done here.
Kay’s Notes: I
first cut a panel 4 x 5-1/4, just slightly smaller than my card base and
sponged some Broken Glass distress ink in the center of it. Next, I cut
all of my pieces for the entire scene out so I could play around a bit
with the placement before gluing them all down. I cut three evergreen
trees, three hills, one tree, the clouds, sun, fence, and the pieces for
the house (which I went ahead and assembled so that I could see where it worked best.)
Kay’s Notes: I first glued the
clouds down. Next, laying the
furthest hill down as a guide, I glued my evergreen trees down so
they would be just under the edge of the dark green hill. I adhered the second
hill and house with foam tape to add dimension.
Kay’s Notes: I glued the little fence down flat to the first
hill beside the house, and added the tree with foam tape. And, lastly, I
added the third and closest hill with more foam tape.
Kay’s Notes: I cut the ‘hello’
sentiment out three times and layered it before gluing it down. I adhered this entire panel with foam tape to an A2 card. I hope you have enjoyed hearing how I created this little country scene and feel inspired to get try one of your own!
Thank you, Kay, for showing us how much fun you can have with just dies! You can view more of Kay’s lovely wonderful work on her blog, My Joyful Moments. Have a wonderful weekend!
