Blog Design Team: Easter Blessings
We hope you are having a lovely Tuesday, crafty friends! Today, Blog Team Member Amy Sheffer has created a stunningly gorgeous Easter card to boost your creativity. Check it out…
Amy’s Notes: As much as I love cute bunnies, chicks, eggs, and Easter baskets, my
favorite Easter cards to make always feature a cross and Scripture
or religious sentiments. When I saw the beautiful cross dies
released last month, I pictured a lovely cross die-cut in front of some
soft yellow rays of a rising sun. Today’s card turned out just like what
I envisioned!
Amy’s Notes: To begin, I sponged Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard
Seed Distress inks onto a Sugar Cube card stock panel, sponging darkest
in the center and fading out toward the edges. Next, I die-cut the Ray
of Sunshine Cutting Plate, again out of Sugar Cube card stock and again
sponged on some Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress inks. Last, I
die-cut a piece of white card stock using one of the Build A Scene –
Rolling Hills dies, and sponged on some Shabby Shutters Distress ink to
create a grassy hill. I layered all the pieces together, then die-cut
the whole thing using the largest of the Banner Stacklets 2 die set.
Amy’s Notes: The
cross was done with the At the Cross 3 die – so gorgeous! After
die-cutting, I ‘smooshed’ the cross into VersaMark ink, heat embossed it
with some pearl embossing powder, then embellished with a white flower
and some metallic and white fibers from my stash.
The sentiment, from
Easter Blessings, is stamped in Tumbled Glass Distress ink. To break up
the all-white background, I dry embossed a Sugar Cube background panel,
matted it in another Sugar Cube layer, and popped the whole thing up
with foam tape. He is Risen, indeed!
Thank you for sharing such an elegant and lovely card with us today, Amy! You can find more of Amy’s beautiful work on her blog, Pickled Paper Designs. Have a joyful day!
