Blog Design Team: You Make Us SEW Happy!

Hey there, crafty friends! Today, Blog Team Designer Julia Stainton has created the perfect card for anyone who is a fan of sewing and textiles! Check things out below…

Julia’s Notes: Like many crafters, I’m not only a huge paper crafting fan, but I
also absolutely adore sewing as well. Time constraints have placed my sewing
projects on a back burner lately, so I’m always excited to be able to
include a little stitching in my paper crafting designs. Whether the
project is sewing themed or not, I love to stitch away, but when it has
    sewing themed elements, even better!

Julia’s Notes: Today’s card pairs up some
sweet sewing themed stamp and die sets with felt for texture and,
of course, some machine stitching. To start off the card, I created a
stitched felt tag as the center accent of my design. The Tiffany Wool Felt was die-cut using the Tag Stacklets 2 die set. This is one of my
must-have die sets as it goes with absolutely everything! Once my tag
was cut out, I stitched it to a piece of Marshmallow Wool Felt and then
trimmed away the excess with some pinking shears.

    Julia’s Notes: The sew happy
sentiment comes from the Sew Happy stamp set and is stamped with black
ink onto a banner die cut from the new Build a Tag 3 Die Set. Sweet
buttons and the darling sewing machine are die cut from Toffee and Sugar
Cube cardstock to form more accents for the felt tag.

    Julia’s Notes: Pins and
vintage buttons make great finishing accents for the tag and some
artfully snarled up thread makes a fun touch to tie it all together.

Thanks so much, Julia, for reminding us that it’s okay to combine different types of crafts! Be sure to check out Julia’s blog, Belle Papier to see more of her lovely projects. Join us tomorrow for Day 2 with Guest Blogger Miriam Prantner.
