Guest Blogger: Miriam Prantner Day 2
Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! The wonderful Miriam Pranter is joining us again this week as our Guest Blogger and today she is sharing two card projects that will brighten your day. Read on for details…
And now, notes from Miriam on today’s projects…
For my cards this week, I wanted to focus on the Build A Scene Rolling Clouds dies. Most of the time these types of dies are supporting characters used to create the scene/background or as a border. I wanted to flip that a bit and make them front and center.
To create the bottom cloud layer, I simply used one of the dies for the
top and one of the dies for the bottom of the cloud. I cut another
cloud for the background as well as a sun, from the Sunny Days stamp
& die combo, which was inked with Distress Inks and the clear
embossed twice to get a good glaze on it.After stamping the
sentiment on it, I popped the bottom cloud layer up with foam adhesive
and then added a bit for twine for a pop of color and contrast.
I
thought it would be fun to create a second card in this style. This
time I went for a portrait, rather than landscape, orientation, and used
some balloons from the Party Time die set as accents.
The
clouds were die-cut and adhered in the same manner. The sentiment is from
the Pieces of My Heart stamp set, and I tied a bit of twine around the
neck of the balloons to complete the look.
Thank you so much, Miriam, for sharing two such terrific ways to use one of our very favorite dies! Come back tomorrow for more inspiration from the Blog Team!
