For my first project today I decided to try out the Shining Star Cutting Plate and the coordinating sentiments to create a set of cards. The Shining Star Cutting Plate was designed to work with the previously released Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate. In order to make it easier to achieve different colored rows of stars, the design was of the Shining Star Cutting Plate coincides with the cutouts from the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate. I started by cutting out the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate from a rainbow of cardstock colors:
Now you can see how the stars fit within each section of the Ray of Sunshine design. Next I used removable adhesive to adhere the white Ray of Sunshine cutout to my card front. I used this as a template to adhere the rainbow sections to the card fronts. I was able to get 4 cards from these pieces:
And then I popped up the Shining Star Cutting Plate over these card fronts to create four different cards. I paired several more Taylored Dies with the coordinating Shining Star Sentiments:
I used Little Bits – Party Hat, Grad Cap, You’re My Hero, and the balloons from Up, Up & Away Cutting Plate. There are so many options with this cutting plate which is why I love it!
Graduation!
Birthday!
Any occasion!
It felt a little too early to start on 4th of July cards, but I’m looking forward to using this design for my 4th of July cards this year as well!
My second project today also features a card that would be perfect for a grad, but includes products I can see myself using throughout the year in many different ways! And what do you know… it’s another rainbow design! *wink*
I cut the large hot air balloon from several colors and then pieced the design back together with a rainbow stripe. I cut the smaller balloon from solid cardstock and used the smallest die from our Heart Stacklets set to make a design for the smaller balloon.
To add to my hot air balloon scene I used Build a Scene – Rolling Clouds and the tiny clouds from the new Little Bits – Weather Confetti (more on that die set coming tomorrow!). The sentiment is from the Sky High Sentiments set.
Thanks for tuning in for our second day of sneak peeks! I hope you see something that inspires you to get creative and share joy with those in your life! The Baker’s Dozen has been busy creating as well so you’ll want to check out all the goodies they have to share.
