For my first project I decided to dust off my Stamp-a-majig and grab the Simply Stamped – Zinnias set to do some multi-step stamping. It’s been a while since I did multi-step stamping, but I was excited to give it a try again and pleasantly surprised to find that it’s like riding a bike… you just never forget how to do it!
Here’s the first card I made with this set:
I decided to create a zinnia bouquet by stamping several of the zinnias and arranging them with the leaves. I started by choosing my ink colors. I happen to have tons of ink in tons of different brands from years and years of stamping. So I was able to find three different inks (from three different brands) that worked well together. However, if you don’t have a lot of ink, try off-stamping on scrap paper as you layer your blooms. The lighter blooms in my bouquet are the off-stamps of the darker blooms.
I framed the bouquet using the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate cut from a text patterned paper. I added airbrushed vellum butterflies around the bouquet and embellished them with Tiny Twinkles in the center.
I finished it off with the Mother’s Day sentiment from the Simply Stamped stamp set and mounted the frame onto black cardstock before adding it to the card base. It was fun to get back into the multi-step stamping and I’m looking forward to using this set for many occasions!
For my next project I tried out the new Cloud Stacklets to create a weather filled shaker:
I started by embossing the background with the Cloudy Days embossing folder. Then I created the frame using two of the layering Stacklets and added transparency to the back of the cloud frame. After adding foam tape around the frame I die cut several rounds of the Little Bits – Weather Confetti and included them inside the shaker. The sentiment is from the Sunny Days stamp & die combo.
Thanks so much for joining us for another day of sneak peeks! Don’t forget to leave a comment on any of the sneak peek posts here on the TE Blog for your chance to win our daily giveaway. You’ll also be automatically entered into our drawing for a $50 gift certificate each time you comment!
