Blog Design Team: All You Need is a Red Balloon
Happy Tuesday, crafty friends! If you enjoyed our blog post with designer Kay Miller over the weekend featuring one of our favorite pups, well, today we’ve got another cute critter as Blog Design Team member Amy Kolling shares a darling card using If Cats Could Talk.
Now, let’s hear from Amy about her project…
My family just got a
kitten for Christmas so I see lots of kitty cards in my future! I thought I’d kick off Spring with a fun and cheery card featuring a kitty critter and bright blue skies.
I started by die-cutting a Cloud
Border to use as a stencil to sponge some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over a
white notecard. I just shifted my border
down the length of my card and sponged as I went until I achieved the look I
wanted. What was left was a beautiful
cloud sky!
My hills were hand cut and
layered using Peapod cardstock and a
piece of chevron pattern paper from the Double
the Fun Paper Pack. After curving the stamp from In
and Out Birthday on an acrylic stamping block, I stamped the sentiment over one of the hills.
I colored my kitty with Copics and adhered it to the hills. The fun thing about this
kitty is that you can customize it using 1 of 8 different faces that are
included in the set!
Lastly, I added a die-cut balloon from the Up, Up, & Away Cutting Plate in Cherry Pop cardstock and added it to my
scene with some foam adhesive and crochet thread for the string. I hope you are enjoying the spring weather
and some of this blue sky wherever you live!
Thanks so much, Amy, for sharing a fun project featuring this happy kitty! You can catch more of Amy’s design work on her blog, Stamp-n-Paradise.
