Blog Design Team: Love Forever
Hey there, crafty friends! Hope your day is shaping up to be a good one. Today the very talented Lea Lawson is sharing a card featuring a simple, clean, modern design and we are simply in love with it.
First, here’s Lea to tell us about her project…
I don’t know about you, but this is the time of year where I start
getting bombarded with bridal shower, bachelorette, and wedding
invitations! For today’s card, I’ve created a simple love-themed card
that can be easily customized for any of these occasions and
more. (This is something I do quite often! In order to get more use
out of my cards, I will create a card that can be used for many
different occasions, and then customize it when I know exactly what I
want to use it for.)
To start, I created a cardbase from Sugar Cube cardstock. I then stamped the word “Forever” from the In &
Out – Wedding stamp set to the lower right corner. After that, I die-cut
the Block Party – Love die from near the bottom of the card, just above the “forever”.I set
the card base aside and cut a 2-inch strip of sugar cube cardstock. I
then blended Tim Holtz distress inks in Fired Brick, Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar on it. I started with red at the bottom and worked up
to the lighter pink. Once it looked how I wanted it, I adhered the
strip behind the die-cut word.
To finish, I accented the card
front with a cascade of red and pink sequins from the Rainbow Brights sequin
mix. I left the card as is for now, but can easily add a sentiment to it to customize it for a bridal shower, engagement party, bachelorette
party, etc. It can also just be given to your significant other as a
sweet any occasion love card!!
I hope you enjoyed my sweet little love card today!
Thanks for sharing such a perfect and versatile love card with us, Lea! You can catch more of Lea’s design work on her blog, Lea Lawson Creates.
