For my first project today I decided to pair the previously released Stroke of Genius stamp set with the new Of Thee I Sing sentiments to come up with this patriotic project:
I started by stamping the brush strokes in three different colors down the right side of the Sugar Cube cardstock. Then I embossed the sentiment deciding to position it mostly within the light blue and red strokes since the words are harder to see over the darker blue. I stamped the lined music in black ink and embossed the separate music notes with white embossing powder.
Then to finish it off I cut the Little Bits – Mason Jar from vellum and added a slight shadow with Copic marker. I cut the flag and pieced the design together using the new Red Pepper, Blue Corn, and Earl Grey cardstock colors. I popped the vellum up using Kool Tak squares that don’t show through vellum. I use these all the time and would highly recommend them if you’re looking for a good vellum adhesive with a little dimension!
For my second project I colored up the You’ve Got Mail – Patriotic image with Copic markers and paired it with the new Summer Nights Matched collection. I’m loving the versatility of this collection and can’t wait to explore nautical and birthday themes in this color combo!
After coloring the image to coordinate with the patterned paper I cut it out to fit inside the die cut postage stamp shape. I added patterned paper strips, sequins, silver twine, and a sentiment to finish it off.
