Introducing: Punny Man, My Favorite Dad, and Little Bits for Dad
Good morning, crafty friends and welcome to the second day of sneak peeks for our May Release! Today we’re celebrating dads with our new product reveal. And while Mother’s Day is right around the corner I’m betting that most of you already have your Mother’s Day cards made, right? So let’s move on to dad! Whether your dad is a golfer, a grill master, or just your favorite guy we’ve got a little something for everyone to express your love on dad’s day! All of the new products we’re showcasing today will be available for purchase at the TE web store on Thursday at 7am PST.

My dad is such a softie and I love that about him! He grew up with three sisters and was blessed with three daughters so I suppose after years of being surrounded by estrogen he picked up a little softie along the way. However, despite his soft nature he was called upon more times than I can count to kill all those spiders that none of us would go anywhere near. We’d simply yell… “Daaaaaaad…. spider!” and he’d come to our rescue. And so I thought this card would be perfect for my dad:
If I’m being truthful, this would also be a great card for my husband as I still have a fear of spiders. I have plans to cross out the word ‘dad’ and hand-write JON above it as a quirky little card for the man in my life who is now in charge of killing spiders for me. “Jooooooooon….spider!” *grin*
It may look like a Halloween card from the outside, but I also added a sentiment from the My Favorite Dad stamp set inside:
The second project I created for today would also be a great card for my dad, an avid golfer. It was easy to create the scene using a combo of Build a Scene and Little Bits dies:
I started by airbrushing the background using Copic marker and the Cloud Border as a stencil. Then I die cut three hills using the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills dies. I sponged the tops of the hills with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink for a little more definition between the layers. I also popped up the middle layer with foam tape for added dimension.
After adhering the rolling hills, I die cut the golf cart from Cherry Pop cardstock and colored the wheels with black Copic marker. I cut the flag stick from the Little Bits – Flag set and hand cut the triangle flag from Candy Corn cardstock. To finish it off I stamped the sentiment directly onto the cloudy background with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
