Blog Design Team: Hats Off to You
Today’s project from Blog Team Member Amy Sheffer shows off just how fun it is to peruse Pinterest to get your creative juices flowing. She’s got a fantastic graduation card to share with us today. Check it out…
And now, here’s Amy to tell us all about her project…
While browsing Pinterest recently, I ran across a cute graduation gift
idea from the magazine Good Housekeeping: a box filled with dollar bills rolled up
and tied like diplomas. I couldn’t wait to incorporate that idea into a
card.
The graduation cap is die-cut with the Grad Cap die. Do you
see the embossed edge around the mortarboard? I love that!
As a
background for the cap and diploma, I stamped the Graphic Greetings
Graduate sentiment stamp in VersaMark onto Salt Water Taffy card stock
and heat embossed in white. I layered the focal point piece onto some
distressed vellum, and then onto a yellow polka dot pattern paper panel.
For embellishments, I added two
different types of wood veneer stars, along with a button tied off with
some linen thread.
What’s your favorite graduation gift to give? Do you
give money or prefer to give a purchased gift? Either way, you can create a card to help your graduate really celebrate!
