Blog Design Team: Inspired. Amazed. Grateful.
Happy Wednesday! Today Blog Design Team member, Sharon Harnist has created a stunning stamped card with us today. Check it out…
Now let’s hear from Sharon about her gorgeous floral card…
I adore bright summer colors and flowers, so that was the inspiration
for today’s project (and the need for a special thank-you card)!
To make it, I started by water-coloring a 4.25” x 5.50” piece of watercolor cardstock with Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress inks.
You can either use re-inkers for this, or you can swipe the ink pads
onto an acrylic stamp block and pick up the color with a waterbrush.
Generously wet the paper first, before applying the color, and you’ll
get some fun, unique patterns and color variations! After drying, the
water colored panel was adhered to a Sugar Cube card base.Next, I die cut the Chevron Cutting Plate from Sugar Cube cardstock. I always use the Metal Adapter Shim to my die cutting sandwich when using intricate cutting plates, to assure thorough clean cuts.
For the flowers, I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the pretty 3-step stamping Simply Stamped Zinnias with these Memento ink color combos (from lightest first stamp to darkest third stamp):
Yellow – 1. Dandelion, 2. Cantaloupe, 3. Peanut Brittle
Pink — 1. Rose Bud (stamped off), 2. Rose Bud, 3. Love Letter
Leaves & stems – 1. Pear Tart, 2. Bamboo LeavesThen I die-cut the flowers and stems with their coordinating dies and popped them up on foam tape over the Chevron Cutting Plate background.
For the sentiment, I inked the Big Bold Thanks with dye based markers and stamped it onto (my favorite!) pretty scalloped frame from Build a Tag 3, die cut from Sugar Cube cardstock.
To finish the card, on the inside I stamped another sentiment from the same Big Bold Thanks set onto another Build a Tag 3 scalloped frame and added an additional yellow zinnia die-cut.
Thank you, Sharon for sharing this beautiful and special card with us today! Please visit Sharon on her blog, PaperFections, for more of her wonderful work.
