Blog Design Team: Beautiful Birthday Wishes
Hey there, crafty friends! Blog Team designer Kay Miller has created a stunning birthday card for today and we can’t wait to share it with you…
Let’s hear from Kay about her project…
Not only is watercoloring images fun, but it can also make gorgeous and very easy backgrounds! I cut a piece of watercolor paper 4 x 5-1/4 and stamped the sentiment in waterproof black ink. I heat set it and then wet the whole piece of paper with water and dabbed purple watercolor paint along the top left corner and the bottom right corner, letting it spread with the water. I let that dry and flicked some of the same purple watercolor paint onto it for the speckles. I let all of it dry, and because watercoloring can warp your paper, I added liberal amounts of foam tape to the back and adhered it to an A2 top folded card.
I stamped the flowers in black ink, colored them with my Copic markers and cut them out with the matching dies. I then added them in the top left and bottom right with foam tape. I added a few Doodlebug sprinkles to the card for a little extra sparkle. I hope you have enjoyed my card today!
Thank you so much, Kay, for sharing your gorgeous card with us today! Be sure to visit Kay on her blog, My Joyful Moments, for more of her fabulous work. Have a joyful day!
