For my first project I used the Southwest Cutting Plate cut from teal cardstock and paired with coral, mustard, kraft, and black for a unique color combination:
I’m totally loving the trendy font in the Free Spirit stamp set and how it pairs perfectly with the Southwest theme. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and also included some gold details on the die cut feathers.
I tied the die cut feathers together with twine and popped them up over the sentiment (after die cutting with the Banner Stacklets 1 die set). When it’s all said and done, this qualifies for the “Super cute in under 15 minutes” category!
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your outlook!) my next card doesn’t qualify in the same category. This one took me a while, but I am just thrilled with the results so it was worth the extra effort!
The stenciled background with the flowers is all one layer so it took a bit of masking to accomplish this card. I started by stamping the purple flower in three coordinating inks (Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum, and Lilac Posies) using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the layers. Then I masked the large flower and stamped the two smaller flowers in three coordinating inks (Dandelion, Cantaloupe, and Tangelo). I finished by stamping the leaves in two coordinating inks (Pear Tart and Bamboo Leaves).
After finishing the floral stamping, I covered the flowers with masking paper. Then I die cut the Circles Cutting Plate from masking paper and placed it over everything. With the mask in place I airbrushed the background with Copic marker to achieve the patterned look.
To finish off the project, I stamped and embossed the sentiment with Leaf embossing powder, die cut it with Label Stacklets 7, and popped it up with foam tape. I added Sprinkles to the flower centers and clear sequins (which are hard to see) around the sentiment.
Thanks so much for joining us during our second day of sneak peeks! I hope you’ve seen something that inspires you to get crafty and share joy with your friends and family! Don’t forget to leave a comment for your chance to win the Southwest Cutting Plate. Hope to see you back here tomorrow for more product reveals!
