Autumn is in the air and as it’s now officially Fall, it’s definitely
time to get into the spirit of crisp days, sweaters, apples and of
course, beautiful fall leaves.I love classic nature stamps and
dies as they never seem to go out of style. They are amazing basics to
have in your crafting collection and depending on the techniques you do
with them, it can totally change the look.The gorgeous Mega
Leaves die set is absolutely one of those must-have sets. They are great
in bouquets, in masculine designs and, of course, for fall and
Thanksgiving cards. My sister-in-law no longer gets beautiful fall
leaves where she now lives and I always think of her at this time of
year. I thought it would be fun to create my own leaf bouquet to sent to
her to enjoy.Each of the leaves in this set have been die cut
from watercolor paper multiple times to create the arrangement.
Watercoloring these die cuts in brilliant reds, greens, oranges and
yellows makes it look very natural. When using watercolor on die cuts, I
don’t worry about going right to the edges with the pigment. I love the
look of a little white showing and it helps define the edges.
Once
dry, the leaves are all gathered together onto a cardboard tag. Did you
know you can die-cut corrugated cardboard? It cuts easily with Taylored
Expessions dies and it adds fabulous texture to the project. I’ve die-cut some for this design using the Tag Stacklets 2 die set.To finish it all off, a little tag holds the “Thinking of You” sentiment.
