Little Bits – Celebration Confetti
I know I’ve told you this before, but each year I make a calendar to give to my mother-in-law. She displays it on her kitchen countertop throughout the year and I just love seeing it there! I enjoy giving calendars as gifts because they’re a thoughtful and purposeful handmade gift that receives daily recognition.
One of the drawbacks to creating calendars is that they can be a time-consuming (not to mention, expensive!) project. By the time you figure out all of the products you need to complete each month you might be too tired to actually get started! So this year, we’ve come up with a collection of just three products designed to coordinate perfectly with our 2016 3×4 Calendar; Calendar Critters & coordinating dies and Build a Scene – Calendar.
You’ll see what I mean when you check out each month of my calendar. All twelve months were created using those three products paired with our 3×4 Calendar:
The stitched frame from the Build a Scene – Calendar die set was designed to fit perfectly around the pre-printed pattern on each month of the 3×4 Calendar. I think it’s a nice contrast to frame each little scene.
All of the images were colored with Copic markers and then die cut using the coordinating dies.
There are also small sentiments in the Calendar Critters stamp set that were included to coordinate with each critter and month of the year. I stamped them in black ink directly onto the calendar page.
You all know how much I appreciate versatility so we didn’t stop there with the Calendar Critters stamp set. To get year-round use out of these cute critters, you’ll also want to pick up the Critter Correspondence stamp set which includes card appropriate sentiments to go with each of these little characters. They’ll be perfect for notecard sets and individual cards as well!
Now as you’re preparing for the new year with a new calendar, you’ll also want to get ready to celebrate the new year with a New Year’s party invitation or special champagne bottle tag for the hostess! I decided to go the route of a champagne bottle tag using our previously released Bottled Up die with the new Raise Your Glass die as a shaker element:
I started with the Bottled Up tag and created a layer for it with Banner Stacklets 1. I embossed the white layer with the Snowfall Embossing Folder. I think it looks like the bubbles in a glass of champagne!
I used the Little Bits – Celebration Confetti and the Raise Your Glass die set to create the shaker element. The sentiment is from the Eventful – Holidays set which includes sentiments for both Christmas and New Year’s parties.
So that’s it for my projects for today! Remember, we’re giving away the Calendar Critters stamp set today so leave a comment for your chance to win. I’d love to hear what you love! You’ll also want to check out what our fabulous creative team has been up to using today’s featured products! These gals are simply amazing!
