Blog Design Team: A Classically Colorful Christmas
Happy, happy Friday, crafty friends! We hope you have a wonderful, creative weekend and to get you inspired, Blog Design Team member Lisa Henke is getting us started with a classic, yet modern card that will get you feeling crafty!
And now, here’s Lisa to tell us all about her project…
Classic Christmas colors just make me happy, and pair them with crisp white
and they’re even better! I used two colors of green with the Peek-a-Boo
Christmas deer and tree for my card today. Those stamps are just the
sweetest little images. I stamped them first and then used the
coordinating Peek A Boo Christmas Dies to cut them out.I
decided to highlight the die -cut pieces and used the Peek a Boo Circles die set. The perfect placement of those circles and the stitched detail make
for quick card construction. I almost always make a top-folding card,
and I love that you can use this die in a vertical OR horizontal card
orientation. When creating a clean and simple card,
it’s fun to add in a touch of wow to make it really stand out. So behind
the center circle, I backed it with a piece of vellum and tucked in
some Build a Scene Christmas sequins. I made this into a little shaker
for a fun, interactive element.I layered a piece of
Granny Smith cardstock cut from the Label It die and stamped my
sentiment from Peek a Boo Christmas in black ink. I adhered it to the
middle circle with some foam dimensionals. To add a bit of more ‘classic’
Christmas, I cut two strips of pattern paper from the Rainbow Brights 6×6 Paper Pack and adhered them to the right of the Peek a Boo Circles
panel. I layered the finished panel on an A2 Sugar Cube cardbase.
Thank you for sharing this classic holiday card with us today, Lisa! You can find more of Lisa’s fabulous work on her blog, My Little Creative Escape. Have a joyful day!
