Blog Design Team: Walking in a Winter Wonderland
Hey there, crafty friends! We hope you are staying nice and warm this holiday season, especially if you live in a place, like we do, that gets cold, cold snow! Today, Blog Design Team member Lisa Henke is getting us in the winter spirit with a darling winter wonderland card…
And now, here’s Lisa to tell us all about her project…
I’ll be honest: I am not a huge fan of snow and cold weather. I have
grown up and lived in the Midwest my whole life. The winters are just
too darn LONG! But, thanks to cute snowmen like this one from Ready, Set,
Snow, I sure like the long winter days a whole lot more!I cut a stitched
circle from the Stitched Circle Stacklets and then stamped my snowman
in black ink. I stamped a sentiment along the bottom. I just love how
the sentiments from the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set are curved, giving
them a bit of movement, and perfect for tucking into a rounded die-cut. I
used my Copics to color the scene and then added some sparkle to it with
some Crystal Stickles glitter.I cut a few white
snowflakes from the Make a Snowflake die set. If you only own one snow flake
die set, this is the one. It is full of beautiful details and includes a
great variety of sizes. I topped them both with a purple Rainbow
Brights Sequins. A few more details I added as I put my card together was
a strip of purple dotted paper from the Rainbow Brights 6×6 paper pack.
I also tucked in a few white banner pieces from the Label It die. I cut it
once and snipped it in half, trimming it down to fit the corner. I
framed the whole card up with the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate. Isn’t the
detail on this die just great? It has such a pretty and subtle detail.
Thank you for sharing this cute card with us today, Lisa! It will be sure to chase away the winter blues. You can find more of Lisa’s fabulous work on her blog, My Little Creative Escape. Have a joyful day!
