Sneak Peeks! ‘Poop’ There It Is!
Good morning, crafty friends! It’s our final day of sneak peeks before all of our new products are available for purchase! You’ll find them all at the Taylored Expressions webstore tomorrow at 7am PST! In the meantime, we have one more load of inspiration to share with you today! I’ll admit, I never thought I’d use the word ‘poop’ in one of my blog posts, and yet here we are today and I can’t wait to share my ‘poop there it is’ card with you!
Before I get to my projects today, it’s time for our daily roll call! I love to hear from all of you and I have one more prize up for grabs just by answering my question of the day.
Today I’m giving away the Grown Up Grumplings stamp set to one lucky winner!
The fine print: Leave your comment before Wednesday, March 2nd at 11:59pm PST. One entry per person. Each comment will also be entered into our Grand Prize drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate to the TE Store! Winners will be chosen at random and announced on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016.
Would it be alright with you if I answer my own question today? I love getting my girls all dressed up for pictures and this is one of my all-time favorites from Charlee’s six month session:
Now what you don’t see is what happened shortly after this photo was taken. One minute Charlee was smiling and happy and the next minute I was cleaning up one of the biggest baby blowouts known to man. Her beautiful outfit was streaked with poo! I have the picture to prove it, but I was advised not to share it! *grin* I can’t wait to read all of your favorite baby moments (both the sweet and the smelly ones)!
So now it seems only fitting that I share my ‘poop there it is’ project with you! There’s just nothing funnier than these grumps!
I started by die cutting the Pockets & Pages – 3×4 Photo Frame from Sugar Cube cardstock and again from the light pink polka dot patterned paper for the inner piece. I die cut the elements for my scene (crib and rug) from the Build a Scene – Nursery stand assembled the scene on the patterned piece.
I stamped the Grumpling in Memento Espresso Truffle, colored the image with Copic markers, and die cut with the coordinating die. Then I popped the little grump onto the scene with foam tape. And nothing quite captures the moment like the ‘poop there it is’ sentiment! I think this card would give anyone with a little one a good laugh!

I decided to continue on with the baby theme, but tamed it down a notch with a generic welcome baby boy project using the Hippo Birdy set. This previously released set is now receiving the gift of coordinating dies!
I started by die cutting the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate from Sugar Cube cardstock and several different patterned papers in the Carta Bella It’s a Boy 6×6 Paper Pad. I reach for this cutting plate a lot! I ended up with 4 unique backgrounds after all of the puzzles were put back together. After finishing up the background I stamped and embossed the elephant with white embossing powder and watercolored him with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.
Note to self: add a little grey enamel dot to his eye because it’s really hard to see the white embossed eye. I paper pieced his ear with a matching pattern from the background and popped him up on a vellum tag die cut from our Tag Stacklets 1 and trimmed across the bottom.
The welcome banner from Little Bits of Baby was stamped in Memento Gray Flannel ink, trimmed by hand, and popped up underneath the elephant. To finish it off I punched a hole in the top of the tag and tied it up with a bit of natural burlap twine.
