Blog Design Team: A Heart-‘felt’ Hello
It’s Wednesday, crafty friends! We hope your week has been filled with creativity and joy. We have a treat for you today as Blog Design Team member Amy Kolling has crafted a crisp, chic card today that is just perfect for Spring.
Now here’s Amy to tell us about how she created her card…
Hello everyone! I was recently inspired by a project I created for a crafty weekend I help co-host. We made hoop art with felt flowers and used the gorgeous felt from Taylored Expressions. I wanted to transition and use some of this felt for bright felt flowers for a card!
I began by using felt in the following colors: Avocado, Butter, Charcoal, Marshmallow, Papaya, Pink Sherbert, and Aqua Mist. I used the Mini Bloomers dies as they were just the size I was looking for. For the leaves, I used the Bloomers Greenery dies and die-cut the small leaves out of Avocado felt. I just mixed and matched until I liked my combinations for flowers. I stitched the tiny felt buttons on with crochet thread and tied small bows. I love this little detail.
For my background, I wanted to go with a texture of stitching so I used the Dotted Lattice Embossing Folder. I tend to forget the dimension and detail an embossing folder gives! I need to pull these out more often!
To tie in with the black in the flowers, I die cut the Block Party – Hello die in black cardstock for a bold look. After deciding the layout of my flowers, I used Scor-Tape to adhere the flowers to my card.
Thanks so much, Amy, for sharing this fun floral card! So, crafty friends, who are you going to send a card to just to say ‘hello’?
