A 1st Birthday Wish from Taylor
Good morning, crafty friends! It’s Taylor here on the blog today! I know you just spent an entire week with me last week as I shared sneak peeks using our newest products, but today I have another special project to share with you! My nephew Saxon just turned ONE so I set out to create a unique birthday card to celebrate this sweet boy.
I wanted to do something that featured the number 1 on my card so I started with my favorite number die set, Just a Number. After staring at the dies for a bit, I decided to begin arranging all of the numbers to create a die cut background panel for my card. It took a bit of effort, but it was totally worth it when it was finished:
I started by arranging the numbers onto a piece of teal cardstock and taping them into place with Scotch Removable Tape (washi tape works too!). After running the piece through the die cut machine, be careful with all the pieces that fall out as you will need the middles of numbers like 6, 8, etc. when you put the design back together!
I popped the large, connected piece up onto a polka dot patterned paper and then filled in the corresponding number centers. Because the background was busy, I wanted to keep the rest of the design simple so I die cut the 1 and st from coordinating patterned paper to create the little circle element.
The word ‘birthday’ came from the In & Out Birthday stamp set and I flagged the sentiment by hand. I finished it off by stamping and paper piecing the balloon design from the Party Monsters stamp set (which, thankfully, has a coordinating die!). So there you have it! You could replace the 1st birthday circle with any number for special, personalized card!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! One of our fabulous Blog Team members will be back here tomorrow with an amazing project to share!
