Hooty Birthday to You!
Good morning & Happy Monday! It’s Taylor here on the blog today and I’m glad you’re joining me. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The weather is warming, the tree in our front yard is blooming with beautiful white flowers, and we dug out our girls’ bounce house from storage so they could enjoy some bounce time outside! There’s just something about spring that lifts the spirit, isn’t there!?
And speaking of spring, today I have a very bright, springy card to share with you. This would be perfect for an upcoming spring or summer birthday! I used the Sunshiny Day stamp set (one of may all-time favorites!) paired with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color my stamped scene:
I started by die cutting the 3×4 Photo Frame from watercolor cardstock and embossing the scene with black embossing powder. Then I used my Zig markers to watercolor the scene. I cut the same photo frame from Cookie Monster cardstock, embossed the white sentiment along the bottom, and slipped the image panel inside.
I added a few leafy Sprinkles to the tree and sun, a tiny grouping of flowers cut from our Mini Bloomers die set and Bloomers Greenery die set. I also added a bit of grass border and a tiny cloud.
Shhh…. don’t tell, but a little birdie told me that coordinating dies for Sunshiny Day are coming soon!
One of my favorite things to do on my cards is embellish my plain die cuts with Copic marker to give them a bit of dimension. You can see that I did that on the grass and the greenery peeking from the behind the flowers. And to finish off the layout I embossed the card base with the Zig Zag embossing folder and the green layer with the Lots of Dots embossing folder.
I hope today’s card puts you in a happy mood! You can check out all the supplies I used on this project below. Have an awesome day!
