Blog Design Team: All You Need Are Cute Boots!
Happy Hump Day, crafty peeps! Have you gotten creative yet this week? If you need a bit of inspiration, today’s project from Blog Design Team member Cindy Lawrence will have you reaching for your stamps and dies with a card that is just perfect for April!
And now, here’s Cindy to tell us all about her project…
April showers bring…why, cute boots, of course! I have had the Bloomin’ Boots stamp set for a while now and have been itching to play with it! Everything about this set just says HAPPY, don’t you think? I have a bit of a thing for cute rain boots, and have a couple of fun pairs myself. I was just walking with my teenage daughter and splashing in the puddles the other day — my daughter gave me a wide berth (chicken!). When one wears rain boots, one must splash in the puddles, don’t you think? It’s an unwritten rule!
I began with a Sugar Cube card base and beautiful patterned papers from the Hello Happiness paper pack. I added several layers of die-cuts, using some of my TE must-have dies, like Banner Stacklets 1, Stitched Banner Stacklets, and Stitched Circle Stacklets.
The darling boots were first stamped on some pretty Hello Happiness striped paper, and then die-cut using the Bloomin’ Boots Dies. I then colored the soles and top edge of the boots with a BG78 Copic marker. Perfectly-matched enamel dots dresses up each boot. Foam tape gives the circle, sentiment and boots some “pop” and adds dimension to the card.
The fun sentiment was stamped in coordinating Memento Rose Bud ink and die-cut with a Stitched Banner Stacklets die.
The final touch on my card is the Little Bits – Umbrella die. I die-cut the umbrella with a lovely floral paper from the Hello Happiness Paper Pack and the umbrella handle with a bit of Sprinkles cardstock. I tied up the umbrella handle with a sweet bow created with Bubblegum Doodle Twine. It’s the little things that give a card a finished feel, don’t you think?
Don’t forget the inside of the card! With just a bit of patterned paper and some accent stamped images, you’ll have a really ‘wow’ card!
Thank you for sharing this super cute card with us today, Cindy! You can find more of Cindy’s fabulous work on her blog, The Creative Closet. Have a joyful day (filled with cute boots!)
