Blog Design Team: Splish Splash!
Hey there, crafty friends! Blog Design Team member Sharon Harnist has been inspiring us with her sweet 6×6 Calendar series and today, just in time for the end of May, she’s created a sweet and adorable calendar page for June. Sharon is taking us to the beach today and you’ll want to come along!
And now here is Sharon to tell you all about her project…
This month’s calendar was created with the adorable Calendar Critters stamp set and Calendar Critters coordinating dies. These sweet critters bring a big smile to my day each time I see them!
June’s adorable little chick was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Sugar Cube cardstock and colored with Copic markers Y11, Y21, Y23, and her swim suit colored with R22 and R24. The “beach babe” sentiment from the Calendar Critters stamp set was stamped onto the white Let’s Talk Bubble 1 die-cut and also shaded with the yellow Copic markers.
The Little Bits-Beach Umbrella and Sandcastle were also die cut from Sugar Cube cardstock and Copic colored (sandcastle using E41, E42, and E43). All of the elements were adhered with foam tape to the 6-inch Sprinkles calendar base.
Salt Water Taffy cardstock was die cut with Build a Scene-Rolling Waves die to create the ocean waves. The Build a Scene-Rolling Hills dies were used to cut Toffee cardstock to create sand and to also trim the bottom edge of the 6×6 Calendar Download, printed onto Sugar Cube cardstock. I see the 2017 6×6 Calendar Download is already in the TE store, giving you the summer to get a head-start on your 2017 calendars!
To finish the calendar, the June word from the Pockets & Pages-June Script die set was cut from Toffee cardstock and adhered close to the sand horizon to make it appear to be another sand sculpture!
I sure hope to make it to the beach this summer – how about you?
Thank you, Sharon, for sharing your darling calendar with us! You can find more of her work on her blog, PaperFections. Have a joyful day!
