Blog Design Team: The Handy Man Can!

And now, here’s Cindy to tell us all about her project…
Perhaps it’s because Father’s Day is this month; but I’ve had a hankering to make masculine cards lately. I mean, after all, I married a man, and three of our four children are men! So, it makes perfect sense to have some cards for men on hand.
My card today showcases the Moka Tim stamp set. I happen to be married to a very handy man, so I knew this set would come in “handy” (hah!).
I stamped Tim on X-Press It Blending Card with the ah-MAZING new Oreo Premium Hybrid Ink from TE. This ink is SO vibrant, and it allows you to color immediately after stamping with your Copic Markers. It gets two thumbs WAY up from this colorist! The flags were die-cut using the Banner Stacklets 1 die set.
I colored the image with Copic Markers, adding texture to his jeans with a spritzer bottle of Colorless Blender and a scrap piece of denim. If you add texture to your images with Colorless Blender, be sure to do that part of the image before you color anything that you don’t want to add texture to! I air-brushed the background behind Tim, and added texture to the ground by dabbing the tip of my Colorless Blender marker over and over on the air-brushed ground area.
The background was created with the Brick Embossing Folder. I sponged on a pale gray ink (matching the cardstock) to give it a more realistic look and to make the texture pop.
The patterned papers are from Simple Stories Summer Fresh collection. I wrapped a bit of navy/white twine around the bottom, and finished off the bow with a coordinating button.
The “thanks” was die-cut from Sugar Cube card stock using the Shades of Thanks die set. The layers were given a bit of dimension with 1/8″ Foam Tape.
